It can be seen through its 3000 mosques (among them the Blue Mosque and the Basilica of Saint Sophia), its many palaces (including the palace of Topkapi also a museum) and its markets (the Great Bazaar, the Egyptian bazaar). The city can be discovered both on foot in its maze of alleys but also by taxi to go from one end of the city to the other.
